Star Wars fans are rejoicing at the impending release of a new series based on their beloved franchise. Star Wars Andor is set to debut next month, but there is one small problem. Namely, no one knows who Cassian Andor is.
To fix that, Disney is releasing a movie called Rogue One in theaters, a sort of prequel to the TV series, but one that’s actually a sequel to the series itself. Snippets of this movie have already been floating around the internet for years. It’s where that bit with Darth Vader being badass in a hallway came from. As for the rest of the movie, no one really cares. But it seems to be some sort of rip-off of Dark Forces, only with different characters. In this case, Cassian Andor seems to be a sort of version of Kyle Katarn, with none of the charm. Meanwhile, Jan Ors is replaced by Jyn Erso, who instead of being played by someone from Japan, is played by some white lady speaking with an English accent on a desert planet, which we all know Star Wars doesn’t have enough of.
After the release of Andor, Disney plans to release a new series based on a new and totally original character, requiring no royalties to be paid to anyone, called Darth Raven. Little is known about the story, but there are rumors it may take place during the period of the Olden Republic , a first for the franchise.
